Qualifications Regulators can use the NOS website to:
- find the NOS that exist in sectors and occupations to assist them in approving qualifications
- show employers and stakeholders how to access the NOS they need to develop training programmes or to identify the qualifications they need
- ensure that SSC/Os are consulting with a representative sample of stakeholders from across all 4 UK nations when developing NOS
- regulate/monitor the effective use of public funding to develop UK wide industry approved NOS for a range of different purposes
- ensure that NOS are made available to and inclusive for different audiences across the UK
Awarding Bodies/Organisations can use NOS to:
- develop training programmes
- develop qualifications and
- develop employer specific programmes.
As NOS have been developed for employers by employers, they identify the up to date learning and skills needs in a particular sector or occupation and are therefore a valuable resource to be used to ensure that qualifications meet employer needs and demands.
